First, let me say this, 9s for a turbo car these days is rather pedestrian, however....I'm STILL excited to crack the single digits today. Myself and a few guys from Tennessee met up, and made some hits. My grudge match didn't go as planned, as you will see in the vid, his car blew off the tires, so I won't count this as a kill. The way it worked out, we just couldn't get another race in. The board was messed up, but the slips here tell the story, I was so close on the 1st pass, I figured I would lean on the car a bit harder on the hit. It felt absolutely amazing, felt like it was surely going to break something.... but it didn't. I believe I figured out why the trap isn't where I believe it should be, I think the wastegate spring is weak, it peaks around 19psi at 100% on the controller.... then drops. But anyway, time to make the 2 hour trip home.
To be fair, my guy did end up making a clean pass later today. Just wish the 1st hit he made was as clean as this one, he went a 91 @140. Would have been a good run for sure, we've been jacking our jaws back and fourth for a solid 2 months, a good time was had by all today, with 3 of us hitting new PBS. Here's his good pass.
Thanks. A few buddies have given me a hard time about them, calling them airplane gears. But between the short ratio 1st gear of the 400, and the short tire I run, along with the low end torque the motor makes, it's not at all soggy.
