Post turbo flex pipe?
Post turbo flex pipe? Got a 5.3 with a billet vs gen 1 78/75. 3” down pipe that I’m redoing and fabbing connection to the 3” catback after the cutout. My question is if the motor has solid mounts, turbo is mounted to the car and the exhaust is floating at the stock rear attachment rubber exhaust hanger (3rd gen firebird) do I need a flex pipe between the down pipe and the rest of the exhaust? Or can it just be solid mounted and left alone? I’m not sure about the exhaust growing as it gets hot and want to do it right this time around and help with any vibrations I might have been getting. Basically if the catback is supported by rubber exhaust hangers does it need a flexpipe between the turbo/down pipe and the rest of the exhaust?
thats what I thought. I ended up using one only to help with lining up and removal of the sections. It’s a decent one with the liner on the inside so hopefully it works out good.
