Headgasket Choices? (boost)
A couple of years ago I was at the track with a buddy of mine helping him with his first gen Camaro (full tube car).
He went hoping for 5.30s and we were down to 4.88 by the time we left on a forged 4.8 at the top of his 3-bar MAP (twin S369s, Hi-ram with fabricated top, A/W, on methanol).
He sold the car right after, one of the guys that works for one of the LS wiring harness companies (can't remember which) has it now but I think bought it as a roller.
I guess weight plays a big factor, Capizzi is somewhere around 2700 lbs and the Camaro was 2400, as does fuel type, track conditions, etc.
I'm a pretty big proponent of the actual amount of boost being irrelevant in most cases, but almost 50 lb seems like a lot lol.
capizzi car is light, this car has a pro mod 94, it’s still gaining with the more boost we throw at at, car went 4.8@150 on 29lbs with a s488, it’s harder to get the 94 to bring the power in soon enough
