Out of curiousity what's the 4L60 record? 400 and glides have been faster then pretty much everything but how fast has a 4L60 been of any build level? I've seen some quicker 4L65's but nothing terribly mind blowing. You can throw those in too if you want.
I've had about zero issues with autos from a mechanical standpoint. Stock 6L80 lasted way too long. Had TH400's from FTI, CK Performance, etc... had an ATI ProGlide worked perfect. The only thing lacking in those setups was the cars soul, must have dissipated out the trans cooler. Manual trans cars just seem to have more character to me, driver being more in tune with the car if you will.

this isn’t about a record. This was a simple banter of if the 4l60 is a big steaming pile of **** that a lot of people say when their builder sucks. It has it place. Definitely not in a record attempting car. Sure, you could make a few passes with the “1000hp” build, but it’s still not a 1000hp capable trans. It will fail at that level if used on the regular. A lightweight drag car that sees strip duty only does not count. Put that bitch in a 1000hp street car that sees regular duty and gets on it a lot, won’t last. So make no mistake fellas, I’m not saying this is the best transmission ever. Or even that it’s a “good” transmission. Because really it’s not. It’s what gm gave us to deal with for years, it has its place and purpose, but not in a race car. I’m getting away with it because I know what I’m doing with building it. Will it last a long time? Probably not. But be honest with yourself. When you race and go fast, **** is gonna break. Sometimes your lucky for a while.
I do wanna tell you guys this tho. You are kinda getting to know me. And how I think. And I like to mess with people. So my buddy that has had the multiple th400 failures.....text me the other day. He said he’s gotta pull it out again. And he’s getting tired of it. So me being me....I replied, “I could always build you a 4l60”. Lol. He didn’t like that too much. Guess it was wrong timing. Lol.

Do 1000ft/lb diesels run 9s? But no, no it didn't get out of the 11s. It likely would have, had I at least had a decent nitto on the thing, instead of 320 compound all weather tires. She sure gets down now though
