in-line PCV valve
Was reading about the fixed orafice style (gm 12572717) and was wondering what the purpose is? As I understand a fixed orafice pcv it "meters" air by using a .010 hole in it, nothing else...
If that is the case why not drop the PCV and run a wide open line?
Here is my PCV routing.

All your doing by running a PCV system is introducing the blow-by back into the engine and for what reason other than it being a cleaner way to deal with it. Better ring seal and cleaner engine I say
It’s also un-metered air as the MAF knows nothing of this air but I’m not sure it that really matters that much, I will tune it this way so It should run well.
The question is however why is the PCV valve recommended especially if it is a fixed orafice design?
the other side doesnt have a check, just 3/4 hose to a catch can with a breather/filter
works good, keeps **** clean
had a small hole (like the truck PCV valves). I ran a line from that to an oil sep., then to a check
valve, then to the TB. Seems to work OK, I see small amounts of oil in the sep., drain as needed.
