If you cant break 1k on pump, you're doing something seriously wrong.

Build a big heavy iron 427, best heads you can afford, keep the compression sensible and add lots of boost, good charge cooling etc. It'll easily make a load of power on pump fuel etc.

Obviously if you can get better fuel, then it will make power easier, but it is not essential.

FFS there are 2.0 4cyl engines these days that will make 5-600hp all day long on pump fuel with ease. So an engine 3.5x that size, really shouldnt have any difficulty doing 12-1300 on pump, especially when some LS heads move a load of air.

But is ethanol or anything like it not available there ? Even if sold for other uses ?

You’ve mentioned Methanol is available, so use it.

LSX block. 388”. Good 6 bolt heads and a 90+mm turbo.

1500+ all day long.

But, I’d really suggest you reach out to Brian Moore of Kinetic Engineering. He can build you the engine you’re looking for.

There is methanol and ethanol available but it's quite expensive and not that easy to get. Anyway, 1200 on pump sound awesome. I think its a great first stage.
Thanks.
