Default How Long Will It Last

when i get to qmp with my car and have rob tune it and lets say i get 600 rwhp, how long will a stock bottom end hold up? can it be ran safe and go to the track every so often. i have 6L heads and gaskets and all the other stuff is in the sig. stock bottom end. also have 55psi injectors and slp maf. not sure if that matters but how long will it hold up? what will be the first thing to go? how bad could it be when it does go? just a few questions i have.

As long as you're not in the boost all the time, go through proper warmup and cool down (i.e. Turbo timer would help for longevity of the turbo) and a SAFE street tune you'll be fine for a good while. But, it will let go, how long? I'm wagering it is directly proportional to how frequently you hit and stay into the boost.

A good tool may be a Scanmaster hooked up so you can monitor if you get any KR at all times, etc, that way you can let out of it if the PCM senses any.

If you're getting detonation or seeing tons of boost a lot I'd say the first thing to go would be pistons and/or piston rings. The stock crank is good for at least 700 RWHP + so that's not an issue. The weak links are the rods, rod bolts and pistons in an FI setup.

What he said . . . I was 621/685 on 91 octane and alky, #1 ringland cracked and blew driver's side head gasket. It didn't last long. But I was stock everything, including heads. I did have 918's in though.

Tune the sucker conservatively. I think 550RWHP could live a long time.
Run Race gas at all times. 110 unleaded, keep conservative timing and a rich AF ratio.
Change fan programming and thermostat. Look at relocating intercooler to the nose of the car.

Should live a good while like that
