A good tool may be a Scanmaster hooked up so you can monitor if you get any KR at all times, etc, that way you can let out of it if the PCM senses any.
If you're getting detonation or seeing tons of boost a lot I'd say the first thing to go would be pistons and/or piston rings. The stock crank is good for at least 700 RWHP + so that's not an issue. The weak links are the rods, rod bolts and pistons in an FI setup.
Run Race gas at all times. 110 unleaded, keep conservative timing and a rich AF ratio.
Change fan programming and thermostat. Look at relocating intercooler to the nose of the car.
