Default Short WG recirculation pipe flexpipe needed?

Ive driven my 5.3 78/75 billet VS turbo car for 2 years in the summer (street car only) and it had a 60mm HKS clone WG with the 1.75" exit but ran a 2" pipe dumped to atmosphere (CX racing kit). WG has a 12psi spring opening on the bench test but nets only about 6psi through a 3"DP and a full 3" single exhaust (backpressure helping open it up). Driving around on the street the car is quiet so quiet that with the EBC turned off I get 6psi which happens really easily and I hear that awful WG open up and its the worse. Of course with the EC open I can't hear the WG and I pick up 2-2.5psi with just the EC open and no other changes. I thought about adding a muffler to the WG atmosphere dump pipe but I don't have alot of room to do much. The annoying part is the DP and the WG dump are insanely close and tight and I have a very small area to plumb a recirculating dump into the DP. I decided to just do it as I know I will loose a little power which means nothing on the street even if its 30hp as I doubt I will even notice it. Now my issue is the WG dump into the DP is less than 3" and I had to cut some radical pie cuts to make it tight enough to fit in the area, also it enters at 90* into the DP which I know is not great. My question is I couldn't fit a flexpipe for obvious reasons and its going to be annoying as hell to assemble it back together but once its in I shouldn't need to touch it for any real reasons. Will I have to worry about the WG or pipes expanding and either cracking or leaking due to expansion? I've seen pics of WG dumps that are also short that have no flexpipes in very short distances in the DSM world and aftermarket 02 housings. I just hope it goes back together smoothly lol.

ime yeah you need a flex there, **** gets really hot...like white hot

plus it makes it go back together much easier if it pulls a little while welding it out

I don't disagree with you especially on making it go back together. However how does something like this work with no flex pipe?

You definitely need a flex there. My recirc. pipe is also short and without a bellows it would have never went back together the first time I had it apart after just a summer of driving. I was shocked how much the pipes moved around after they went through some heat cycles.

I literally don’t have room for a flexpipe. Pushing it further away is not an option. This is the entire dump into the down pipe which is less than 3" total length. The tubing is 2" OD 18 gauge 304SS.

Mine is about 12" long and I don't run one. It's a little tricky to put everything back together properly but it works.
