Gen4 lc9 5.3
The car is not tuned yet and a 5.3 lc9 gen4 block just popped up locally for $500. It’s 60k mile block removed from a 2010 truck. Block is aluminum. Seller took heads off it to use on a dart block so this has pistons and all still in it and working condition.
since the car isn’t tuned yet, he was debating putting his cam and heads into the gen4 block so he could run some more boost. Instead of stopping around 550ish on gen3 rods, he could push it to above or around 700ish on gen4 rods.
the real question here, what’s entailed on doing this and is it worth it? We arnt very familiar with the differences in gen4 or gen3 except the rods. I think it has another style crank sensor, cam gear needs be changed?
