Screw blower/compressor, who did it first?

Hey guys, I’m an hvac tech and recently took on a large account with a 400 ton screw chiller and after looking into how they operate I had to laugh and said hey that’s a screw style supercharger! So I had to wonder if the hvac industry paved the way for a screw blower? I can’t seem to get a link to an animation of a screw compressor to work, but if your interested you can search GEA compressor animation and there is a good 3min video on YouTube that shows the inter workings (if someone can get that YouTube link posted that would be great). That GEA compressor appears to have an external electric motor but the majority have an internal motor cooled by the vapor refegrant returning from the evaporator. If anything I thought you guys might find it interesting! A semi hermetic compressor might be interesting to a gear head also The first time I seen one I was like wtf it looks like an engine! Same principles just powered differently
