Default To Stroke, or Not to Stroke?

I have an '01 Trans Am with a D-1SC ProCharger, currently at 600rwhp on 9 psi boost. I'd like to upgrade the bottom end, push my boost much higher and see if I can get to 800rwhp (already have a meth kit, 227cc heads, FI cam, double pump fuel kit, 9" rear end, etc, full part list here).

Texas Speed recommended me some pistons and rods, so I ran the parts by my shop and let them know my goal of 800rwhp. My shop suggested that instead, I should upgrade the entire rotating assembly and increase displacement to 393 or 395, because I could pick up a lot more power with less strain on the ProCharger drive. I've done a lot of reading here and see many suggest not to go past 383, but I'm open to upgrading the entire rotating assembly.

So my question: Would you recommend I:
1. Upgrade just the pistons and rods, keep the stock crankshaft and see how much boost I can run (not sure if I can hit 800rwhp this way)
2. Upgrade the entire rotating assembly, increase displacement (383 or 393?) and increase boost until I hit my goal of 800rwhp.

I dont see how stroking it is going to put less stress on the procharger.

I think 383 would work well with your existing top end and D1sc. 395 is too big IMHO.

I went the opposite way...added cubic inches with bore and kept stock stroke. I'm using a forged rods/pistons ls3 short block built by TSP. The procharger likes the extra cubic inches and compression. I do think 800 rwhp with a d1sc is going to have to be a very efficient well matched setup. Also it's not going to work the procharger any differently at 800 rwhp with a 346 or 800 rwhp with a 383. You will see torque come in lower with the 383 and your boost psi will be lower to achieve the 800 rwhp, but it will take pretty much the same blower impeller speed to make 800 rwhp on either motor.
