Default LS3/F body

Hello, Kinda new to LS and F bodys so just want to ask as ive been researching but nothing that 100% answers my question.
I have a ls3 out of a 15 camaro and want to put it into my now new to me 99 z28. It will be on holley dominator tho and a Huron turbo kit. My question is.... Do I need to swap over all front drive accessiories off of the ls1 on to my ls3? Ive seen that alot have said to do so with adapter harness hits but they are older threads. Using the Holley harness and what not I didnt know if I still need to do this? The only thing I can see is I need to swap out the ls1 oil pan, pick up tube along with the dip stick. But as far as the pulley, water pump, alt and all that I dont see why as long as its all ls3 or all ls1 correct?

Fitting may be easier with your own accessories...but whatever works easiest for you.

Wiring loom will need to be intended for that engine ( only minor differences anyway )

Ls3 accessory drive from camaro protrudes further from the engine than fbody and may not package well with the huron kit.

LS3 pulleys sit 25mm closer to the engine than old Camaro FBody.

See thats what I thought too but others are saying camaro ls3 = truck spacing but thats not what I saw. I saw truck ,ls1,ls3 camaro then ls3 corvette from furthest out to in. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The ls3 from a 5th gen camaro like you have does have the truck spacing. The ls3 from the vette has the 25mm shorter spacing.

So what is the truck spacing ?

Because I have a Gen5 Camaro water pump here and the pulley position is the same as my LS2/Vette/ inner position water pump. There is no way it would ever work with LS1/6 or anything further out.

All I know is set a truck balancer next to my 5th gen balance and they are the same spacing. Look at any of the bracket manufacturers like lsx innovations and they say truck and 5th gen camaro have the same spacing.

From what I can find balancer depths are

corvette 3 7/16 off engine or 2 1/8 on engine

4th gen camaro 3 13/16 off engine or 2 15/16 on engine

truck & 5th gen camaro 4 3/8 off engine or 3 11/16 on engine

You seem to be implying a 5th Gen sits the furthest away from the engine ?

That would seem impossible with the LS3 water pump I have here.

Someones bound to have pictures or something somewhere.

Are you sure you don’t have a corvette pump? ATI lists the same part number for gen 5 camaro and truck balancers.

http://www.atiracing.com/products/da...s/damchevy.htm

With that being said, the gen 5 camaro pump may still be shorter overall than the ls1 pump with the way the pulleys are shaped, I really don’t know. But the belt is definitely spaced out further from the engine on gen 5 camaro vs fbody because the balancer has the same dimensions as truck.

I'll check the pump I have tomorrow, and I'm sure I have a LS1 crank pulley lying about too.
