Default 5.3 head sel. for boost

Putting together a semi budget 5.3 for boost. I have the Summit budget forged flat top pistons, with 2 valve reliefs, gen 4 rods. The pistons are .020 over, blocks been bored, cleaned, cam bearings, piston pins fitted to the rods, everything balanced. Cam will is a GTR 2-3. Looking at either 241's, or 243's-based off the l33, which has flat tops and 243's, it had about 10-1 comp. With 2cc's less, cant imagine 241's could be much lower than around 9.5. Is my brain thinking right. I wont know the deck height until I install a rod/piston. Prob wont run much over 10 lbs boost. I have 317 and 706 heads, but comp would be to low/high.

Depends on octane and goals but between the 2 I'd pick the 10:1.

I ended up with 799 heads, so it will prob be close to 10.1-I try and keep a build closer to lower pump gas friendly, with politicians their only one vote away from messing with fossil fuels, lol.

When those two *** hats win in November were all going to have to build trailer hitches in the front of our cars so the horses can pull us not to mention we'll need papers with us too. The poor will be in one horse drawn cars. Good luck with the build.

Isn't it better to burn corn for boost anyways? Isn't burning dinosaurs a thing that only dinosaurs concern themselves with?

at 10 psi, 10:1 is the better choice imho. I like the fact that I have 9.4:1ish and I'm able to pull off 18psi on 93 octane and 13 degrees of timing. I did add a small shot of meth past 16psi for a little insurance. But it'll cruise along without the meth if I dont by chance get some bad gas.

After asemb. the shortblock and checking the deck height, head CC's, it comes out to 9.54 doing the math. Pretty much where I orig was hoping for, but the option of taking a cut on the heads is there to bump it up a notch.
