The '99+ blocks as stated had an improved oiling galley vs the earlier years. I would just run a stock cast crankshaft with some forged budget rods (Molnar/K1/Compstar/TXSpeed) and forged pistons.... You don't even need ported heads to make 800rwhp. An LS6 polymer production intake is all you nee for 1000rwhp and under 6500rpm. In reality unless you fully port the heads and run a huge cam to move the powerband above 7000rpm you are wasting your $ on the Holley Low Ram intake. Evan a stock 78mm throttlebody will support your needs. Spend the $ on a quality turbo and wastegates with 2.25" piping to the turbo. That size piping will support around 1400-1500hp before it becomes a bottle neck but will help with spool up time. Here is what I did with truck manifolds and 2.25" piping...
You don't need anything super fancy for what you are trying to do..... fork out for some quality injectors and not Chinese POS eBay ones. Also a Holley Terminator X computer/harness $999 is money well spent.
I made 700whp for at least five years with my SBE 02 LS1 before I sold the car with no issues.
My current car made 748whp through a slipping TH400/Converter and will make even more when corrected.
A friend with a forged rotating assembly LS1 block and twins makes over 1K wheel and has done so for years as well.
I'd say the block isn't really the limiting factor if the tune is right.
