Default Boosted LS3 Valve Cover options

I would like to source some nice looking valve covers for my LS3.

Some threads warn that aftermarket valve covers will leak or cause oil usage problems.

One set of threads recommended going with factory LS9 covers and coils, and powder coat them if good looks are important.

I guess I don’t understand why a pair of factory LS9 covers would perform so much better than a set aftermarket covers, if a reputable aftermarket set is selected.

Can you guys explain what is the issue with aftermarket? Are they all really that bad? If so, is there a simple way to solve the issues? I am running a cammed LS3 w/Whipple at around 12psi.

Does anyone know of a good reputable source of custom powder coated LS9 covers with coils?

Seems like the best option would be the LS9s...but I cant see buying all the tools and materials to powder coat myself, and learning curve, just to do the one set of valve covers.

I feel like this is significantly too much thought into valve covers...

I have run a set of the holley ls3 valve covers for awhile now and have never had either issue. I admit the are kind of expensive but the clear my shaft mount rockers and look good too.

What happens is on the cheap ones, when you tighten them down, they bend and create a leak-use stock or pay the price for decent aftermarket.
