We see major temp swings. You could need a heavy coat at 3 am when I leave for work and go shirtless when I leave work at 3:10 pm. Usually runs a little lean for a bit on startup, but normalizes as soon as you start rolling. Nothing that’s ever bothered me and might even help it warm up a bit faster in cold temps. It’s worth mentioning that everything we do has trade offs that are worth consideration though so each individual can decide what matters most to them.

GM would have to do the same go get the baseline in the OEM ecu, but of course, when you make the "noise" of an engine change...that baseline changes, and then the tuner would need to start that process again, although to a lesser degree as GM have already done most of the hard work.
Agree. If I had a pump gas setup or something along those lines I would be using them. Since I'm on E85 I don't see the need. If you get to a point E85 is knocking on boost you probably have major issues no matter what. I believe that was part of the Real Tuners caveats as well. It was geared towards people using E85 or M1. I'm not trying to preach that I know everything about what and why. More of just what I'm doing and pointing in a direction to get more info.

I've been wondering about this question for a while, some say run with out, some with. I'm building a 6.0 for boost, it's a gen 3 block with the knock sensors in the valley but the crank I'm using is a 58x, will be a pump 93 or pump E85 car. Will the terminator x run the knock sensors in the valley on 58x 4x set up?

It has the provisions for it.

As stated before, you will have to tune the KR/response

I was hoping the pros would chime in! I have no engine building experience really atleast not like you guys have. Yes I will be running a blower as did before on my LT1. Like turbos to but a lot more building work involved and more money. If I could weld and had the tools then yea. As far as gas options I haven’t come across any pumps I frequent that even offer E85 so I would have to run 92-93 on stock ecu. Will be running a intercooler again and probably build my own Alky kit. So sounds like I better keep the knock sensors then and get hptuners down the line and find a good dyno tuner.

How do you guys take a reply and add it to your reply so you can talk directly to that person?

Anywho- GTO sounds great and all the tuning is above my head..

Ironically I was wondering about o2’s as well since a bunch of people running and not. I would assume with pump gas and stock ecu run knock sensors and o2’s... with my true duals I plan to still run with a off-road pipe and I had o2’s and tuned that way with loudmouth so check engine lights didn’t come on.

Most of us here do our own work and tuning. You can run open loop with no narrow band O2’s and no knock sensors with a factory ecu like I do, but honestly with pump gas and no tuning experience you better keep the knock sensors.

sure you didnt mean it this way, but just because their names are in black and not in green, orange or red doesnt mean they arent a pro on some level......lots of guys on here i would trust before my local guy with a shop and a dyno

Fact! These days the only thing making some of these tuners “pros” is the fact they had the start up money to buy a shop and a dyno.

Ah say what?? No. I have atleast talked to everyone of these guys in a pm at one time or multiple times or asked questions in their posts. To be honest I don’t even pay attention to the colors or bold printed names.. so no worries man. In this hobby and my others I have had people swear up and down I needed to spend big money on certain things and I didn’t . I did it my way which they said was wrong and never any issues. It all depends..

Any of the businesses out there even food related once awhile you spend your money with a place and wonder how in the heck out they still around!!

Long story short the state I used to live in when younger. I built the top end and put a blower on and closest dyno tuner was two hrs away. My buddy and I borrowed a truck/trailer and signed paperwork and checked off everything I did. Guy had a mustang he claimed he drag races and had 800hp or something and dozens of other cars being tuned. Long story short a grand and days later I showed up and they couldn’t get my engine running correctly keep missing hard. Ran find with my Ed Wright mail in tune. So even people that build engines aren’t even a good source apparently sometimes aka tuners.
