I have a 15-0 now and it was ok with the 6.0 but I want good spool with my t6 Borg 80/96 so I’m swapping my brother for his 17-0 and I have 3.42 gears . Hope it runs well

It’s way looser. Great for the 5.3

Nice car!!! I have had a few Weldon pumps. All worked fine on the street with their Fuel Pump Electric Voltage Controller. They are a bit loud but work fine.

I talked to Weldon and they said run it . He said if I run a large fuel tank that it should be fine for street use an hour or two at a time

Stopped on the drivetrain and went into body work . Was nice but I wanted nicer. Painted the door jambs and most of the car minus roof and trunk. Picked up a tr1045 intercooler . Now back to the engine

thanks. honestly keeping the dirt out with plastic and dealing with the fact that the front of the car is 75*and the back is 60* is the biggest challenge painting in the winter.

Looks great-I'm not the greatest painter, fall short on the cut and buff, but have a friend who likes that part of it, so I pay him now to do it, lol.

Prettymuch the same combo I have in a Cutlass. This winter changing to a good converter as I was using a TSI $350 shelf converter but the car ran 9.90 with 1.39 60'. Looking forward to your progress on this as hopefully we can compare tunes as I am on a Goldbox also. Merry Christmas

Thanks . I’m sure it will take a while to get the bugs worked out. But I’m sure it will run good . My last couple nova’s ran good on lower boost levels but they were 6.0s. But I don’t think there is more than a couple tenth difference in the smaller 5.3

That cutlass is awesome! I had one as a kid my parents gave me. 1987 Cutlass Supreme with vinyl top and my Dad had the suspension upgraded and rear gears for pulling trailers and boats when he ordered it. Sold it with 150,000 miles on it and only issues it ever had was fan belt broke and smacked the radiator hose and came out to a puddle in parking lot. Guy I sold it to a month later got hit pretty good in the passengerside rear panel.

Whatever boost you ran on the 6.0, add another 3-4 psi more boost on the 5.3 and it’ll run close.

My last 6.0 was a little mismatch and I’m hoping this 5.3 is a better combo. Last engine was a ls3 head deal and I feel it was week under 6000 . I bet this new one is as strong as that.

I'm liking this build, I have a sweat spot for GN's.
Whats the average stall speed of the 17-0's from PTC?
Merry Christmas

I don’t know what there rated at but my 6.0 and 15-0 was pretty tight . It worked good but I’m sure it whould slow the spool on a 5.3 .
