Turbo T Bucket
If you haven't already guessed based on the title, I'm building an LS based turbocharged T bucket.
Ive got an 02 LM7 that I rebuilt. New cam bearings, main bearings, rod bearings, piston rings (gapped for boost), a 98-00 factory take out LS1 cam.
I picked up a turbocharger off marketplace. It belongs on a 12 liter Volvo. Its a Garrett GT4288N. Compressor is a 64.7mm inducer with a 88mm exducer. The turbine is a 82mm inducer with a 75mm exducer. T6 twin scroll. 1.32AR hotside.
I'll be running 862 heads with mild port work and blue springs.
I have hooker cast manifolds that should be better than factory truck manifolds.. they look better too. I'm going to flip the manifolds and make a merge pipe, setting the turbo infront of the water pump. Non intercooled.
The rest of the drivetrain is a 4L80E I built myself and a ford 8 inch rear end with 2.79 gears (I'll most likely change those gears later but for now it'll make it run and drive).
I know this is such a generic question, but what's everyone's best guess on spool characteristics of this turbo?
One last question, I've got an LQ4 short block I pulled about 3 weeks ago from a u pull yard but it's a save for later type of deal. Do you think this turbo can support the extra displacement of the LQ4?
Any other input?
