Planning first booost build e-85 question
My car has a 4060# race weight...
On pump E-85 (less than 65% ethanol, according to log),
Dual 340lph AEM intank pumps,
Stock lines but -6AN return,
Racetronix dual Hotwire kit,
1000cc Snake Eater Injectors, and a
Gen 1 Cast VS 78/75,
I went 9.94@138, third pass ever in my new (at that time) turbo combo.
14 degrees of timing, and just hitting 16# of boost,
Was at 81% injector duty cycle, topped out at 142 MPH before I let off the gas.
Soon after, swapped to a CHRS1313 dual 450lph intank setup w/all new "Hotwire" setup, -8 PTFE lines, to Holley rails, -6 PTFE return, a Gen 2 Billet 78/75, and then swapped on a 4.5" Treadstone intercooler near year's end.
Only went 2/10ths quicker, due in part, to my ET Street R's being worn out, but have went 7MPH faster...
Only other things changed for 2021 are 1500cc injectors, and switching to dual wastegates...
Never been on a dyno, so no clue as to HP/TQ figures, but it runs well...
600 or so should be able to happen pretty easily for you.
I literally chose to go flex fuel due to easy access after a few places opening up near me. No-brainer for me to spend $2.25 a gallon for "race" gas, instead of mixing $12/gallon with pump 93 like I used to do. I take 10 gallons of fuel with me to the track, just so I know I won't run out, and it's much nicer filling 2 jugs for $20 or so, as opposed to $75. Test & Tunes are usually 50 bucks, so switching to flex fuel equals free racing for me...

I do run a flex fuel OS (HPTuners) and a sensor, so that I can run straight 93 (E-10) if need be...I have my tune to retard timing about 5 degrees at any RPM, and top out at 12-13# of boost, if on 93 octane. But the very little drive time I've gotten this winter, has been mostly 3-4# of boost, just to drive the car a bit (straight 93)
Stock decapped injectors will flow around 72lbs at 58psi. They are the cheapest best option for a pump gas build around 600 whp IMO. If you go e85 and need more injector, there's zero reason not to jump right into the Bosch 210's. They are the cheapest big injector available and they will idle and run on pump gas as well. zero reason to go smaller IMO.
E85 will allow you to max that turbo out if setup properly. Your gen3 engine is your limiting factor. As mentioned. Sell that LS1 setup to a "swapper" and pick up a gen4 4.8/5.3. You'll be ahead in the long run. Otherwise be sure to take it to a very competent tuner that knows how to make a gen3 motor survive. it's all in the tune and part combo.
