Supercharged 4.8L
Starting to get the ball rolling on the build for my 92 Custom cruiser. Have a 4.8 and 4L80e from a 2004 Express as the base. I was planning turbo so ordered PAC1218's and a Sloppy stage two Elgin 1840p cam. But I came across a deal on a MP112 so snagged that up. I did alot of searching on this forum here to gather ideas and info on the MP112. According to some posts apparently these chargers do not like cams with lots of overlap. That combined with friends telling me the SS2 isn't a great choice for small cube LS's has me looking at the LS9 cam. Good choice, bad choice?
I'm also looking at front accessory drives. Since I have to go to F-body spacing for the supercharger, and I want to keep the truck PS pump so I can easily reuse the stock PS pump without fussing with lines, etc. I'm looking at LS Simple since they seem to be the only ones that make such a drive. But the brackets seem kinda flimsy to me? Anyone have experience with those.
I'll likely be asking more questions as I get further along on this. Not my first build but certainly my first boosted swap.
As for the accessories, I'm running an ICT bracket for mine and am very pleased with their quality. I think you can run their brackets to take truck accessories to the fbody spacing and location. Might make things easier for you.
