Controlling boost
Controlling boost Been away for a while, but i will be hanging around s lot more again , like it it not, lol.
ok, question......how do you control boost on your turbo hotrod ? Electronic controller? Aftermarket ECU ? Maual controller? Straight wastegate springs ?
im getting frustrated trying to tune in my innovate scg1 on my latest setup . Running 10lbs of spring , good for about 8.6-9lbs at the intake tube . In first gear , im only getting 6lbs of boost , and the screamer pipe is screaming! Im on 32% duty and only an lb or so from my self imposed boost max.
today, i changed up to 17lbs of wastegate spring and turned the controller off ! No chance to test yet, but before i do, am i screwing up ? Will i get some boost to build in first gear by nixing the controller ?
