This is exactly what I've seen, not prevalent but it does seem to happen and no one can say why which is the main reason I haven't done these.

Has some valve train noise then found brass in the oil tore the motor down found those were worn out and it started to get into the main bearings

I found several cases just like that when I was researching them. 5 to 8 thousand miles and wore out. I think I'll start with stock and if I have any problems I'll go with HS rockers. I ran them before on several BBC's and never had a problem. My last one was a 582 that went 4.50's in a dragster and had close to 800 lift.

never had an issue with stock. just make sure you loctite the rocker bolts in as they seem to back out slowly under 7400rpm track passes.

Gotta say stock with those BTR shafts is looking like a really good option.
Anybody run them yet?
Recommended if running into the 7K-7,500rpm range?

Seen the KSR crew switch over to them. 8800 rpm 5.3 if i recall correctly.
