LS 700 RWHP+ Build. NOOB Hi, Everyone, I'm Building a 1968 Nova Protouring Style
I'm In the process of sellling my 502 big block/turbo 400 combo with 650 horse power. I Want More!
My Nova Is caged, with a fully built 9 inch, Cal Tracs, Mini Tub, and Radials.
Requirements
6l80/6l90, I don't want manual, Id like a tap shift, or paddle kit, I Do not want a 4 speed.
At Least More then 650 RWHP.
10K Budget For Motor And Transmission.
My Stupid Ideas
a fully forged lq4 with a lsa blower, and a 250 shot.
Forged 408 Stroker LQ9, With a 250 Shot
Forged LQ4 Twin Turbo Build
Feel Free to Let Me Know If my goal is stupid. I'd Like to Get into the single digits within couple years, so if it can be ready for that im all ears lol.
Any Suggestions at all I'd Appreciate Big Time!

I have a 5.3 with cam kit and arp hardware. Make 830 with twin gt35s and m1 spray… plenty of people make 650 on stock motor with cam and pump gas w/ single vs turbo.
I would do some sort of built block and have your setup capable of more power for the future. All you’ll need to do is run higher boost. 650 will get old quick.

Playing devils advocate here, but why not just boost or supercharge your BBC? You could run a HP/Dominator setup and get many of the same benefits and probably spend less money in the long run.
Easiest would be to find a wrecked 2500 silverado with the 6.0/6l80 combo. Change the valvesprings and pushrods, maybe the cam if you just want to, and leave the rest of the motor as is. Have the transmission freshened up with whatever upgrades are available. Turbo it and go. Easy to make your horsepower goals, and may not cost much more than what you get from selling your big block setup.
