Default looking/need advice

i just picked up a dart shp ls next pro block part# 31867112. it is a 4.000 bore block, so i was wondering should i build a 402 or a 427. i am looking to do 1k on e85. the reason im asking is it silly to take the bore right to 4.125 ? will there be much of a power difference between the two all else being equal? will be using brodix br1 245cc cnc heads from mike lough and he will spec a cam when i decide. just curious what everyones opinions are. thanks in advance for all opinions good or bad.

Either one of those combinations will make 1K with forced induction no problem, what turbo/blower are you thinking?

You can do 1k HP on a stock aluminum 5.3 long block on E85.
Either of those combinations should be able to do it with ease. Personally, I see no reason to increase the bore size.

Go 440 and add another 80mm T6, boom.
Then every time you open the hood it be like unzipping your fly and flopping a 12 inch hog onto the table lol.

Is Mike Lough also doing your block? I am friends with him, he will definitely have an opinion on what he'd want you to run bore wise.

I was talking to him over FB chat a week ago, he's busy but not that busy. He's got a bunch of builds stalled out waiting for parts.

I think the other point he was making on FB was that he didn't want folks to call him and then try chat with him for 30-45 minutes just to chew the fat, or stop in and jaw with him. But when I talked to him at like 7PM he was cool.

Might as well get talking to him to figure out if he can get you all the parts you need, pistons, rods etc.

He's a great guy and builder, he's the other guy I'd want to use for my build.

Yeah he's pretty tight with them, he had a hand in their development of their new small bore cathedral port heads.

yes I was getting them first to build a 5.3 then decided I wanted to go bigger and use less boost to make same power so switched up to the br1 for the dart block
