I’ll have to double check my logs but this is occurring at or below 110kpa, is it still possible to have blowout while transitioning from vac to positive pressure?

If the AFR is too rich and not enough boost you'll misfire a stock BR7EF spark gap.

AFR is a bit rich but doing this in closed loop even just rolling into it progressively. It’s sputtering up.. sooo tighten the gap up a hair? I’ve got tr6’s from my NA that I guess I could tighten the gap up on and try but I’d really like to get these colder non projected tips to run better. I was thinking I could bump idle timing up to say 26 degrees to maybe help these clean off?

Tighten the gaps and actually measure them. Get your afr dead on. Do those things immediately. Also you may have meth coming on too soon especially if it’s boost juice or something that has proven to not be 50/50. Too much water too soon and it’s going to be a problem also.

Not even running the methanol atm. Just touching up the idle cruise and transitional areas of my VE so I can better guesstimate my VE under boost when I get my methanol fittings lost in the mail LOL. (FU Fedex). The new injectors really boogered my prior VE table up I guess. No idea. Also, what gap would you recommend? I plan on starting spraying meth at whatever psi I’m making at 3500-4000rpm and to max out the injection rate by 4800 near where my peak torque is

I run 0.021 on br7’s. I started doing that when I was at 12 psi and still use that gap at 20 psi. No idle or part throttle issues, but my afr is dialed in.

Got laptop in my car at work, this is on a log to work, slowly reshaping my VE table back up. Attached is my log and photo of the changes I made according to the log.. VE table only done to 3200&100KPA. The rest is just roughed in and multiplied for safety. Once I get it bashed out and my meth kit on I’ll do the whole copy paste interpolation to reshape my boost side table and start to push it further…been chewing on it, my cam is a NA max effort setup, it’s a whole different animal with being fed the air that it would have to normally be trying to scavenge at lower rpm. Possibly why I am having to give it so much more fuel so much sooner..either way. I’ve never tuned a forced induction car from scratch so be gentle on that VE table. LOL. It’s so odd to me, spent hours dialing in my NA VE setup only to have it be COMPLETELY wrong now. Possibly the inefficient cam characteristics are being pushed away by the motor being force fed as much air as it wants and not have to vacuum scavenge it?..I’m highly considering having frost build me a base tune for me to have SOMEWHERE to start but I’m unsure of his abilities to do that comfortably on my oddball setup..note my .8 rpm column is what I’d call dirty data. Picking up rich decel into idle and STFTs hang negative..don’t know how to get rid of that besides running DFCO

You keep saying it's pig rich, but also say you have to keep giving it more fuel...lol. I thought you had a wide band in the car? Why not set up a histogram for afr error and tune using the wideband in open loop? You would be done with the VE table real quick then.

Stop worrying about what the VE used to be before the blower and give it what it wants now. Are you planning to use a maf as well or staying in speed density?

Ah no sorry. The idle and low area were really rich especially at startup. Seeing 10.5-11.5 while warming up. Spent about half an hour total idling like that doing startup checks, taking fuel out of my open loop base table, IAC re adjusting and a little RAF tuning to get it to hot start a bit better.. Bumping idle up to 950 seemed to help. Yea I have a wideband I plan on using. STFTs just seem to be much better for me at low load and low rpm with my cam. They always have lol. I guess the reversion plays the wideband up a bit..I did another log and pulled over updated and went home yesterday but instead of save I clicked close log. Either way stft error were from -2 to 1 so it’s really close.
I plan on staying 2bar SD. I truly wish I could run my maf lmao.
Meth fittings came in last night.
Going to grab a new set of plugs and set gap to .022 and see how it is running, probably push it a bit harder on the wideband Wednesday.

oh ok lol. I actually like to idle and cruise a little leaner than stoich with my 232/248 cam. I kind of go by sound and idle quality rather than focusing on hitting stoich at idle. I run at 11.0 afr on the gas scale using 50 percent ethanol and 50/50 water meth in boost. This puts me in the high 11’s without meth which is safe for me with no detonation. Just something to consider. You can also use the afr and timing modifiers vs iat to add in safe guards as well.

Yea I like to idle at 15.5ish but STFTs always yank it back down anyway lol. I could never get it to run in open loop the way I wanted. Down low, i Idle at 70kpa so I have no resolution to do the PE at 1200 rpm trick. Also why my car ran better with a MAF.. I actually planned on doing exactly that with the AFR. 11.0 on meth. Are you on centrifugal blower or turbo?

I have a Procharger and run in open loop all the time. Low resolution hasn’t been an issue even though you lose some with 2 or 3 bar sd. The ect iat bias helps with weather changes and I usually don’t have much problem. As it’s warming up now I did need to tweak my VE a bit mostly at idle and part throttle, but it’s not a big deal. I stay in open loop so I can idle and cruise at any afr I want. If you like tuning like we do it’s not that big of a deal.

Mind if you share your setup and timing tables? I hate that hptuners killed the repository. There’s nothing to compare with what I have set up..if frost replied to my email I may have him build me a start tune so I have somewhere to start. Im a bit lost on my timing tables. Read lots of different stuff about the non projected plugs need more timing

I recommend getting your afr where you want it and put new plugs in. Then make a wot pull and check number 7 plug for the timing mark. Maybe pull one from the other bank too just to be sure. See where the timing mark is and go from there. I’m on ethanol so my timing is probably more than you should run if you’re on pump gas. Too many variables to use someone else’s timing map. I will say I drop down to 10 degrees as I come into boost for traction and ramp up to 18 peak. I could easily put another degree peak and more down low without detonation. This is with 10.6 to 1 static compression and 20 psi on ethanol and water/meth.

eta: I don’t use knock sensors either. Ls3 block in a 2004. I drilled and tapped the block for them, but ended up not using them so I read plugs for timing and signs of detonation.

God I’m so jealous of these ethanol guys. I can’t get it ANYWHERE close just isn’t that popular around my area. And yea for 25bucks I’m just gonna get a new set of 8 and gap them with my plug gapper vice thing I have. I just threw these in out the box like a dumby since I’ve read they are like .028 gapped from factory. Didn’t think I’d have much issue but with low boost and high compression I guess not the case 🤷‍♂️

I wouldn’t be surprised if they are a lot more than 0.028 and inconsistent.

Yea your probably right. I can’t help but think I remember when I was giving the last little heave ho on the one plug up front it let out a little snap. Maybe cracked the porcelain. I got another set of 3346s from advance today. Going to gap them tomorrow sometime and throw them in. Gotta make sure my meth boost reference pickup is working then Probably Try and switch to AFR er logging and see what I can break if it’s not raining lol.

Make sure you prime the meth pump and test the system. I just use a little compressed air and spray the nozzle into a bottle to make sure it's primed and working correctly. I always keep a pile of new br7's since I check and change them so often. I just checked them and they are 0.028 out of the box. The one positive about a procharger is plug changes are super easy...lol.

Yea I figured I would be good with that out the box gap..you think that’s part of my issue? I got a new set. I’ll set them tighter and see what happens.

**UPDATE**
Seems I found my miss. I guess I’m a dumbass. This spark plug was noticeably much looser than the rest. You can see the blow by headed up the plug…Don’t mind the horrid looking stuff on all of the threads. I always antisieze and it seems to help but looks horrible lmao but without that gooo I guess I wouldn’t have seen this so easily.. I’m here hoping that was my problem. That being said I’m Still going to gap a fresh set a little looser than .022ish now that I think this is my issue. Gonna try and get about .25ish. Realistically I bet I could’ve just tightened that plug down a little snugger and been fine! Got my meth fittings and nozzle installed today. Primed the meth pump up. Took a while to actually get fluid going through it. Will update again later.
