Default ecotec turbo selection

i just bought an ecotec powered car and want to turbo it. There doesnt seem to be any forums i can find with ecotec people that do anything more than bolt ons and basic stuff, so im asking here.

motor is a stock 2.4L LEA which is direct injected flex fuel. Eventually i want to add cams if i can figure out whether or not LNF cams will swap in.
goal is a turbo capable of 500whp through a getrag F23, which should be plenty to scatter the stock short and be very responsive.
im not super familiar with whats out there for this application. i had a FP Green HTZ on my evo and it was great but admittedly never spent much time with it as a 2.4 before selling.
heres what i found that seems right, but looking for as much input as possible: https://turbo4less.com/product/vsr-n...-ball-bearing/
would prefer something a little more economical, vband inlet on turbine side, but dont have a set budget. if i need to spend $700 then thats fine.

heres where its going, plan to make a elbow to vband onto the header to turbo and thats where the wastegate can go also.

heres the car, its in shipping now, should be home to florida in a few days:

I remember that build. It was pretty cool. I’m surprised he sold it so soon though. Too bad but good for you. Did he ever get the engine sounds down in the cabin?

Anyone used this one?

it sounds like they do well as twins on a 5.3 so I might give it a shot on the 2.4
