Default LY6 ring gap???

Hi guys.
I have a 30K miles LY6 (6.0L) that I'm tosing on a LSA SC. What should I open up the gap to? I'm thinking I'll run a 2.5. SC pulley eventually. It should be about 12-14 lbs. of boost? I've read/seen alot of different specs.

thanks,
Jim

I'd look at the ring manufacturer for the suggested gap. I'm using Total Seal gapless rings and they recommend .0055 per inch for up to 14 lbs of SC boost and .007 per inch for 15 - 30 lbs of SC boost, I'm at 4.065 for bore and am planning on 17 lbs of boost so I ended up going a tight .028 (4.065 x .007 = .028455). The same as with bearing clearances - No one will know if your end gap is too much but everyone will know if you don't have enough.

The fuel you plan on running also needs to be taken into consideration.

That’s just it. I am reusing stock rings. The motor only has 30k miles. 6.0L. LY6.

I've heard of guys going as high as .028 - .030 as well.
What's the old saying?
"If you gap rings too loose no one will know, if you gap rings too tight, everyone will know."
