Looking for advice on first turbo build Hello, I’ve just purchased a LS swapped BMW project car and and trying to figure out what all is needed and what needs to be changed out. Here’s what the car already has installed on it
2014 gen4 4.8 with a 6l90e for the transmission.
Dorman LS6 intake
LS9 cam
LS9 head gaskets
LS2 timing chain guide
LS6 valve springs
Also to note the car feels pretty slow at the moment and shifts before hitting 4500RPM(I assume can be fixed once it’s tuned)
My goals with this car is to be a weekend cruiser/semi daily on pump gas and around 500-550 HP
Ive watched Videos and have read countless forum posts but I’m quite new to the LS & Turbo world and feel like the information I’m finding isn’t helping so trying to get some guidance since I’m stumped.
1. What all would I need to buy to achieve what I’m trying to do? Kind of like a list of what I’m missing.(if you have any helpful links I’ll take that as well
2. I’ve read the LS9 Cam & Head-gasket is not ideal for the 4.8 and causes it to make no power before 5k RPMs, should I change them?
If there’s any other thoughts and advice you can give I’m all ears.
