Default Gt45 turbo how much power can it make?

Anybody running one of these? On a 5.3 just seeing what kind of hp it can make

I heard they may be comparable to a s475 borg warner and I think the borg would make 800rwhp on a 5.3. On my ls1 its making near 800rwhp and its not maxed out yet. Close but not quite lol.

Plus the gt45's I've seen on ebay have several different sizes of compressor and turbine wheels.

Here is a video of my GT45 on my zo6 cammed 5.3 horsing around on 10psi. Freekin love it!


Specs on my turbo.

GT45 Turbocharger:
T4 Exhaust Flange, 4" V-Band Outlet, 4 3/16" Inlet
Supports 650+ HP
Compressor Wheel Trim: 50
Compressor A/R: 0.66
Turbine Wheel Trim: 77
Turbine A/R: 1.05
Compressor Wheel Inducer: 68.9mm
Compressor Wheel Exducer: 98mm
Turbine Wheel Inducer: 88mm
Turbine Wheel Exducer: 77.4mm

I think Denmah made like 600rwhp which is plenty for a streetcar.

Mine is nasty it blows the tires off just like that and I haven't turned the meth on yet and it's at 9 degrees of timing

Im running the 80mm gt45 on my 5.3 truck and its a hoss!! I would imagine it could support 800-850 rwhp easily

Here's a 3rd gear roll (TH400), 65-125 @ 13.5 psi, 14-15* on straight pump 93


And here is one at 15psi with 12* on straight pump 93. Notice it spins and thats with 325/50/15 nitto drags

I have the cxracing 76mm GT45r...They told me it should see 800rw no problem...Ill be running a freshly machined, forged 5.3 iron block so im going to push her to the limits lol...

I was going to get the cxracing gt45 but ended up finding one that was a little bigger on cold and hot side , forget the actual size but it seems to be putting out great on my 6.0 and full boost at 3,000rpm with iats in the summer raising very slowly at 10lbs. I think its a great turbo for a smaller motor.

My goal is 650hp rear wheel hp when we get done tuning mine ill be happy for now lol

I've seen a 4.8L with a cam and some 799 heads make 730whp with this turbo thru a TH400 in a Nissan 240sx on a mustang dyno. The car went 9.10@147mph.
