383 LS1 D1X Build Plan
I have a 02 Camaro with FLT built 4L60E, 3600 FTI stall and MWC 9", the suspension is also built out. I have full exhaust (kooks 1 7/8 with cats, which will be removed, going back to a magnaflow catback). Meziere EWP. I have upgraded fuel system but I am planning to upgrade this some more to comfortably support 800rwhp.
Overall this is a street car. weekend warrior garage queen. I do plan to beat on it and take it to the track once in a while but above all else it is a street car and must be livable in traffic and cruising.
I plan to refresh my 383 and include a new cam and upgraded valvetrain. the car currently make around 420rwhp/400rwtq. I would like to see 700 or more on this build if possible.
New cam is likely to be this spec:
224 degrees of intake duration @.050"
238 degrees of exhaust duration @.050"
.604" intake valve lift with a 1.7 rocker arm
.595" exhaust valve lift with a 1.7 rocker arm
119 degree lobe separation angle
115 degree intake centerline
My heads are old but AFR 205's milled 61.5 and Mamo did all his special work to it (though it has been 13 years now...). Also have a Mamo ported FAST 92 and 92mm throttle body. I wil use meth injection to keep IATs down, not for power. No E85 where I am at so have to live on 93 octane. I am also planning for a FMIC to help feed it and keep temps down too.
Car made over 1000 on 21# on E85 when i sold it.
Currently building it now with a big single 88 and shooting for 20#+ again
