Default New PB Mph in the Nova

Woodburn Dragstrip yesterday. Me in the right lane. My buddy who I tune in the left. Big tire 6.0 twin turbo 64 chev PU. I left on the second yellow intentionally. Chase is a race right?
Due to the nation wide shortage of VHT, the track wasn’t very good. Sad.

Ron

I’ve been rubbing on this since 2012. I forget most of the folks here when I screwed this together are no longer around.

I’m sure you will hit your goal.

It’s a 5.3. 19 in low and 26 after the shift. Maybe if it were a 2800lb Mustang, 22 would go that fast.
My buddy in that time slip was at 23psi. We are both around 3450lbs.

Thanks! Yep on the foot brake. 😊
I did upgrade to the Bosch 210’s which are really 240 lb/hr along with a Holley 3.5 bar map sensor. Still stock ecu. Still S476 BW turbo.

Thanks man. I used the ID 2000 data, then changed the flow rate to what VS racing supplied. It runs identical to the ID1300’s. But duty cycle is now 65% vs over 100%

Did you have to go through and redo the VE table after installing the 210's or do you just change the flow rate data and let'er rip?
I'm currently running FIC1000's and am looking at 210's in the very near future is why I ask.

I'm currently running FIC1000's and am looking at 210's in the very near future is why I ask.
I went with the theory that the ID1300 data was solid, and the car well tuned as they have been in there for a number of years.
I am closed loop with the narrow bands, so I had trim data to watch while tuning this.
I changed the flow data initially as it was just too rich around idle through about 2000 rpm. Finally settled on 240 lb/hr.
Then tweaked the VE table around idle and the low rpm drive around stuff. It was only about 5% rich.
Headed to the 1/8 mile after that. Started at 15 psi and worked my way to 25 psi boost. i only needed to change the VE a few % under boost.
So I think my method was reasonably sound.
I'm still working on cranking fuel, it's rather tricky. but it always starts on the second crank, sometimes on the first when it's hot.

Thanks man. The 60ft times have fallen apart because I tried limiting the front-end travel in an attempt to keep it off the bumper when the track has a lot of glue. I need to go back to where it was, and fine tune from there. Mid 1.4 60's are not good, it should be in the low 1.30's or even high 1.20's.

What did you use to limit the travel? 128mph in the 1/8 with a 3450lb car though is impressive.
Did you let out early, seems he pulled 3mph more on the back half?

Hell yea, That's getting it. Especially for the weight of the car. It's a shame how many people can't understand how well & reliably a 5.3 with a small turbo can run. And to run consistent 8's...??? that's just a very fun weekend fo-sho.
The good part is you can get in the 8.50 index class and not have to sandbag. Maybe a Drag Week in your future and probably leave out with the W.

I was in the right lane. His C10 is worse for Aero than my Nova. Neither are very good. 😊

Previously, I had no bump stops in the upper A-arms. So I put some long traction bar snubbers in. I just need to cut them down.

Hey John,
3.31 12 bolt, Th400 with PTC 9.5, and 28” M/T 275 Pro
The trans has a Jake’s shift kit, and a few 4L80 parts. Not sure how it lives, but it does. It’s been in the car for years.

Great MPH by the way, my buddy out East with a 3300 raceweight '69 Camaro (S483, 370, T400, 3.25, 28 pro) has been 8.59@159 with 24-25 psi. We keep thinking it should MPH a bit more.
