Personally I like the bigger engines. They make more power to begin with so it requires less boost to make the same or more power. When my 6.0 bent a rod I stuck a 5.3 in with everything the same except the heads and it was night and day difference. The 5.3 came back out asap. I know some guys love them, but give me the cubic inches all day.
I agree to a point, but to be fair the 5.3 would really need to keep the same compression to even have a chance. The aluminum 5.3 and 6.0 blocks are about the only thing I'd trust as the 6.2's have so much core shift. I've got a spare 5.3 going into my vette to replace my damaged 383, going to use the same cam (advanced some) and the compression is very close between them. I'll probably hate it, but it will be a cool experiment to get the car on the road again.
