Default Turbo smoke

I was out and about Sunday and my car started smoking pretty bad under the hood. I was looking around last night and what could be causing it to smoke, and I could tell Sunday it was coming from right around the turbo. I was thinking maybe the delivery line needed to be a little tighter maybe or something. I noticed the bolts on the turbo where you loosen it to clock the drain lines and such had all loosened. I know they were tightened a few weeks ago and I had zero smoke. Everyone one of them were hand tight. What would cause these to back out so much, Should I pull them all the way out and loctite them? I have them tightened back up and will see if it smokes this weekend.

Don't know why they're coming loose , but I would just tighten and check periodically. Loctite would help. The bigger question is why is there any oil coming out ? Either have a seal problem or a drain problem or too much oil being delivered - restictor needed , or too much crankcase pressure effecting the ability to drain

It def needs a restrictor I agree, it has a high volume pump. I am going to pull the lines this weekend.

Unless its ball bearing, I would be very careful using a rest. in the oil line. Double ck your return line.

Most oil leakage or smoking issues are drain related. I've yet to see anyone feed a turbo too much oil. I have seen drain issues cause smoking, then the owner puts a restrictor in to lower the the fed volume. I usually get a phone call to order a new turbo after that.

I feel like a good PCV system is beneficial in turbo draining as well and something a lot of folks overlook.
The turbo drain on my last car was far from ideal and nearly flat but still worked really well and I think that's because I used a Mighty Mouse PCV catch can.
Just my $.02.

This is true, but an incorrectly set up PCV system will cause a poor oil drain issue, so it's all connected.
