3 inch collector to 2.5 inch crossover

3 inch collector to 2.5 inch crossover Total noob question, but what is the best way to get from a 3 inch collector down to 2.5 for the crossover? I’m using generic headers with a v band. Should I just get a v band reducer to get me down to 2.5 or cut off the 3 and weld on a smaller v band on the header side? First turbo kit build but I’m not shy with a welder.
What ever is easiest/cheapest for you. Doesn't matter how you do it. Ideally you want a smooth transition is all. Depnding on the power goals, you likely don't/want need a 3" collector or a 2.5" cross over either. Read around a little.

It's a fairly basic 6.0 build with a 88mm, figured 2.25 or 2.5 would be about right.
Factory manifolds tend to work better and weld great. Easier plug access, hold heat well, keep exhl. Gas velocity up etc. Nothing wrong with headers though… but can be more of a pain than they ar worth and aren’t needed for most.
2.25 is plenty for most. I ran 2” off each manifold to each side of a T6 S480 and was going mid 8’s at 3100lbs on a 4.8. Worked really well. Same hot side ran almost idential times/speed on a 370” LS (at less boost).
