Default Torq storm supercharger

Does anyone have any knowledge or advice on a torq storm supercharger ? With these things being some what knew it’s seems kinda hard to find information on them. Says they add an instant 150whp.. is this true ?? Are they any good? Are they worth it ? The term “ bolt on to any application “ raises questions in my head . Is it as easy as it sounds ? Is this a true supercharger ?

Yes, I heard back from Chris Beardsley at Torque Storm, there's nothing for the Fbody as far as a kit that uses the new gear drive reverse rotation sc'ers.

Plus, these SC'ers are low power makers......they are nowhere near what the Prochargers can do. There's no benefit in using them since the Procharger bracket can compliment several units so you just do a quick head unit swap to upgrade.

This is the best look at the Torque Storm product you'll ever get. They take you through pretty much every step of the manufacturing, testing and packaging.......it appears to be a top notch quality 100% Made in America product. And if Steve Morris is interested and has them building parts for his customers builds, you know their quality is great. Its just that their SC'ers don't make big power.

They do claim one of their SC'ers made 1600 HP on a big block engine at 12psi.....but I don't know anything about that build.

New? I ran one prob 6-7 years ago and I still have it but it’s on the shelf. Nothing wrong with them and they are great on the street up to about 750hp. A stock 5.3 made 12psi on the smallest 3” pulley and a modded 5.3 made about 10psi which put me around 650hp ish. I only had one issue which was belt slip but I was running the smallest pulley they made at the time. My understanding is they have changed the design of the crank pulley so you don’t need to go as small as 3” to help with belt wrap. The quality is top knotch for the price and it’s a great 750hp supercharger as a single.

lol at new.

lol at low power makers. They are what they are, and don't promise to be anymore IMO.

$4,500 for a head unit that doesnt work as well as a Procharger that is equivalent in price and has proven brackets, performance, and quality.

so custom brackets, hours of fabrication, and a head unit that WILL make less power. Seems like a no brainer to me...

Why would you even consider these?

They currently do not manufacture a reverse rotation supercharger for an F-Body car..
I may consider there 84mm kit for $4700 for my G8 in the future.

For clarification there is 2 TS models. The 75mm that has been around for 6-7years now. The 75mm kits you can get for around 3200.00 for the LS trucks. The head unit and bracket quality is said to be every bit as good as Procharger. The 75mm is rated up to 750bhp. TS recently just released an 88mm unit that is rated up to 1000hp. That unit cost around 4500.00. The problem is they don't make F body kits.

There is a gal on YouTube with a cam headers G8 GT that has been running a TS. Her best time with the 75mm was 10.3 @ 135. They swapped to the 88 and broke into the 9's @ 140. Then the trans gave up. So based on that I think the 88mm TS will make 8-850whp pretty easily on E85 with a 6.2. I would place the 88mm in the realm of Prochargers D series. The 75mm is similar to a P1.

The first and last one that I tuned ran for about 5 minutes on the dyno before it locked up.

...but lifetime guaranteed, right? Did it hurt the engine? Just curious.

If they had an fbody kit that's the way I would have gone instead of turbo.

Still considering some sort of SC instead of turbo because I'm so tired of all the underhood HEAT PROBLEMS lol... bubbling fuel, IAT at 130's, all the routing of wires (and oil and brake lines!) around hot pipes, and it heats up my trans cooler... etc etc

At the time I was checking them out, they were quite a bit cheaper and had the lifetime guarantee which I loved. Post-covid world is much different, maybe not true any longer.

Not sure, never saw it again after that.
