I am fairly new here and need some guidance on a turbo 4.8 parts list. I plan on pushing 550-600 ish reliability while not breaking the bank as this will be a weekend cruiser. I am purchasing a stock 4.8 that is in good condition just needing some suggestions on what to buy for it.
If you can fabricate there is no reason you can't use the stock manifolds.... these are truck manifolds with a 2.25" crossover to the turbo on my '69 Chevelle and large 60mm WG (overkill for your HP needs). I've read that 2.25" can support 1500hp or so before it becomes a bottleneck. The smaller diameter vs. 2.5" should help with spool time also.
You don't need much for a 4.8 to only make 600hp with a turbo. Bigger injectors, turbo, wastegate, intercooler. That cam is tiny and doesn't make much power up top. I would put in something bigger plus upgraded springs. Pull the oil pan and confirm if you have Gen3 or Gen4 connecting rods (Gen4 are stronger and normally were in production engines beginning around 2005).

I just got done with a turbo setup in my 08 sierra.
4.8 stock bottom end, .660 springs and a custom grind from cam motion (210/216 113lsa) hit up Bobby.
got a on3 76/65, dual 450s in the stock bucket, deka 80s, and a boost reference regulator with a -6 return. Using a innovate scg1 boost controller w wideband.
truck made 721whp on 18lbs E85.
Really all you need is valve springs/ fueling, you could skip out on a camshaft if you wanted to.
these 4.8s spool quick with a smaller turbo. Don't oversize it.
Oh yeah get some good *** plug wires with 90° boots. I went through a few on the turbo header side.
