10.8 afr safe ? Stock 5.3 on 5psi
sorry team I searched & searched but no actual answer to my ?? I give as much info as I can as I know thats annoying .. Stock 5.3 2004, ar70 turbo, boost referenced reg at 50psi on idle, stock {i think 24lb} injectors, factory pcm, maf delete, 2bar map, running AIT in front of the throttle,5psi spring in the wastegate, AEM wide band about a foot behind the turbo in the down pipe.
Now I want to know if Im in a safe zone as far as AFR goes ,crusing at 100km[60miles] AFR sit around 15/16 if I stomp it kicks down full boost AFR drops to 10.5ish , if i stand on it from the get go full boost up through the first 3 gears {normally with one wheel peeling good old single spinner} the AFR sits around 11.5, oh one other thing throttle off at cruising speed the AFR can hit 20 but im guessing that may be a fuel shut off or some factory **** still active. Basically is or better are any of these reading s hurting or gunna hurt my engine,, Not a lot of help over her in NZ so this site is gold ..
cheers

24 pounds per hour ?
You are OUT of fuel.
Needs MOAR Injector.
( Rumor has it a short spin around a grinding wheel, drop the cap off, and you've got near 70 pound per hour )

i was hesitant to reply because this isnt any kind of 'yes' or 'no' answer on whether 10.8 is safe. you really need to just get a tune done right. this isnt the 80s, we dont tune fuel ratios with pressure anymore.
the general answer to your question is 'assuming the rest of the tune is correct'
5psi isnt enough boost to need to pull timing from NA levels assuming the rest of the tune is correct
5psi barely needs more fuel than NA assuming the rest of the tune is correct
5psi is very safe for a healthy LS motor for the long term assuming the rest of the tune is correct
with that said, in the right hands you can scatter a fully forged 5.3 with no boost if you try hard enough, and it sounds like you might be on that path.
