Default Anyone run the Borg EFR turbo/s?

Did a search but curious what everyone thinks of the EFR turbo line from Borg.. built in BOV, wastegate, can be water cooler, twin scroll, etc.

looks nice, just curious how well a single would work on a 6.2 engine?

The efr series is decent but if you want anything borg id recommend forced inductions. Also, internal wastgates tend to run into boost creep issues and you are limited by the size as well. External wastegates are going to offer better control and flow.

Never trusted one of those since they’re oil is self contained. Turbos get way to hot for it not to degrade and eat a bearing. Oem turbos are always oil fed and they last 100,000+ miles.

ahh and customer service SUCKS!

I can vouch for the **** turbos and customer service personally. I bought my car with their CT5X billet 82mm with an "upgraded 100mm turbine wheel". They advertise it at 1300 hp rated. My car maxxed out on the dyno only making 852 rwhp. Los Vasquez helped me that day and confirmed there's nothing wrong with the motor or tune we're just adding duty cycle to the boost controller and it isn't making it.

I then called Comp Turbo 3x and each time talked to the receptionist/dude who answers the phone who apparently doubles as their one and only "tech guy". He blamed everything but the turbo. Said it was a tuning issue and then when I finally got him off that told me it was because it was a .96 AR exhaust housing. I've talked to multiple people who said that housing would knock about 50 HP off a normal 1.32 housing so their rating should be 1250 hp instead of the 1300 and it definitely should still make way more than 852 wheel with that housing. I called back and asked to speak with someone else twice and receptionist/tech guy refused and said he is the proper person to speak with. After that I ripped it off and sold it (after a long *** time bc no one wanted it) on eBay and bought a FIS 91/102, made 1008 rwhp on 22 PSI and never looked back. This was about 3 years ago and things seem to have gotten a bit better there but I still don't trust them and would never buy one of their turbos after my experience.

Comp turbo was relevant 20+ years ago, and that's where their wheels and designs still are. I mean they couldn't even put in the effort to copy Garrett and Borg's wheels like everybody else did.
