Heath will be in a position to discuss the merits of different forced induction systems from his own personal experience - Powerdyne, ATI, and now turbos. Heath, I wish I had your energy! Best of luck on the turbo set-up .... and once you get it on, leave it on for a few months would you! I'm getting confused ....

I tried to stall it up and see boost once before I had my lil mishap and i couldn't tell if I saw any boost at all or if so maybe it was only 2psi or so. I doubt I'll see full boost just brake stalling it although I am defiantely gonna try when I get it back this week

Ed - daily driver

Until the day I come accross a deal I can't pass up on a 12bolt the car will never see more than street tires. I will probably try to take it to the track once and expect mid 12's at 120+

Mike - This will be my final FI solution for the car. Stock cooling system, Nice quiet stock manifolds, quiet exhaust, all that and still having over 500rwhp. Can't imagine ever wanting to change that.

Only thing I expect to change is if and when the motor goes is a budget 9:1 rebuild and to crank it from 10 to 15psi

Heath,

Are you going to go with 2000 and up manifolds? They seem to both flow better and hold heat better as well. Could probably pick up a set DIRT cheap

you know I didn't think about doing that.

I wonder though about smog. Since my car is a 98 the 2000's won't have the hookup's for my smog stuff would they?

The airpump hookups should be the same. (Or be easily made to work without issues)

Are you going to run an ORY or leave cats on the car?

The 00's will have the same connections for your smog stuff but in slightly different locationsd on the manifold so you may need to buy new EGR tubing stuff to mak eit work. Or bend the crap out of it like I did on my T/A to install the old style FLP headers. LOL

well I already have the 98 stuff back on so I will more than likely stick with it unless I see solid proof switching would help.

going to be running cats. shooting for 100% smog legal since it's such a B#@$ to smog cars here now. since it's post cat even if they dont get the carb # I just disconnect the tube going into the TB and hook my stock airbox back up for smog.

30 minutes max to swap back and forth. getting too old to di#$ around with this stuff. going for simple easy to deal with power.

It'll be interesting to see how the car reacts with those shitty stock cats on there and the flattened pipe!!

Do you do actual emissions tests there or just OBD2 testing?

both. they even put it on rollers now.
the big biatch is visual. anything remotely outside the norm they refuse to test the car.

Aren't these systems loud? They replace the muffler without anything to quiet it down but the turbo.

You can put a muffler on past the turbo, but of course, it will affect performance.

I plan on running my pair of supertrapps for the mufflers and will also be plumbing the wastegate into the exhaust stream to quiet it down. All I want to hear is exhaust and whistle. The open wastegate sounds horrible to me.

I plan to test both open exhaust/wastegate vs muffled exhaust/wastegate on the dyno to see how much power it costs me.

Should be very helpfull information for others out there I think.
