Has anyone used this before. It's a billet t6 1.32 ar 88/96. Priced out pretty good as well at around $700. The billet s480 is $650. Thoughts?

If it is in fact a pulsar turbo, then scoop it up.
Several guys on YB use them with very good results.

Issue with those is the turbine side is done well before an 88mm comp. wheel can be efficient. Aka – the compressor is too big for the turbine. The cheapie VSracing and china versions were notoriously sluggish to build boost and performed with in a few HP of the S480 base unit. Basically not worth the upgrade.

Looking at the old compressor wheel specs they claim an 80mm flows 119lbs/min, 83mm flows 126lbs/min,88 flows 135lbs/min. But I don’t think that compressor will flow that with the standard 87/96 turbine wheel. At least they didn’t on the “cheap china units”.

The VS 85/102 is only $709 shipped and is a MUCH more capable unit. If you don’t need that much, the S480 T6 87/96 turbine is even cheaper.

So, then these are not Pulsar units because I've heard that the Pulsar units use the newer Garret turbines which is why they work so well.
Pretty sure you've been on a couple of those threads on YB too lol.

Amazon is the worst about monitoring sellers. I wouldn’t trust anything off there unless I spoke directly to the seller. Even then they can claim anything they want. Not saying that’s a horrible unit or anything. Only that its unknown and that the price isn’t great. Esp. when you can get an 85/102 that will blow it out of the water for $10 more dollars from a trusted seller that stands behind their product.

If you're looking for max effort, just pony up now for a good turbo from Pulsar, FIS or Garrett, etc.
I've read about so many people who bought the VS units and then ran into power plateau issues when they pushed them hard.
They then switched to a high-quality piece and picked up power everywhere and in some cases hundreds more hp in the upper rpm range.
At the very least I'd be looking for a used FIS unit.

Or go twins and use cheaper units. Several folks made 1200whp+ on cheapo 78/75's. $2-3k for a turbo hurts my soul. Esp. on stock block stuff.

Car is currently setup and piped out for a t6 single. I had a borg cast s475 on it for a few yrs. Changed alot to the car and pulled a ton of weight out. Wanna get a good single and be done. I had a really nice s480 billet the FIS built for me tht burnt in a shop fore 2 yrs back. It was a brand new unit tht didn't even ha hardly any miles on it. So starting with a new combo with bigger power and plans.

I can sell you any one of those turbos for almost the Amazon price and I'll give you a warranty, and my cell number for support. See if amazon will do that.
