Leaky V band conn. I have one V band conn. on the hot side, not bad, but I can hear it-it looks like it's a tight fit though, has anyone tried a sealer that worked.

I have very limited experience with V-Bands, but the ones I have installed from HuronSpeed V4 parts kit all had very specific copper gaskets in the joints, and if these were not carefully FITTED on assembly- the gasket deforms, and they will leak.

It appears the solution to this is remove the V band conn, replace it with a flex section-I come off the truck manifold with a V band, short section and another V band, then another short section, another V band to the turbo merge. Just too many to line up, so rem the center one, find a quality flex section, be done with it.

Remflex makes vband gaskets now. Will seal a very warped flange but they are thick (compress)If it’s tight you can do high temp rtv but I wouldn’t think it will last long pre turbo due to temps. I’ve also used copper and stainless (mls style) vband gaskets. The remflex will

Honestly if they leak they weren't installed/welded properly. I'm guilty of this as well. once I get a bead going I dont' want to stop. Ideally you tig it in small sections while its clamped together to a good length of pipe for a heat sink. The pros will drape a wet towel over the "heat sink" section as well.
