My first impressions are nothing but positive. The pistons and rods needed no balancing done compared to stock Gen IV pieces. I've only got around 800 miles on my build, but I had a few "uh oh" moments during tuning and working out bugs that I think could have killed a stock piston. Leaning out under boost a few times being the primary one. They took all of it in stride. I still haven't got a dyno tune done yet, but I have no doubt they'll be up to my 800 RWHP goal, and even more when I decide to upgrade.

I seen you said that in my post, which rods did you use?

I'm pretty sure the Summit rods are similar to K1 rods, but Eagles are good too.

I looked at the k1 but they were 6.098 and the summit pistons require 6.125 and eagle and btr both have 6.125 at similar price.

Upon further research looks like Summit is 4032, not 2618 which was what I was leaning towards.

These are the exact pistons I have: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-2999273810-2

They're 2618. I believe Summit also has a house branded piston that is not in their Pro LS line, and that may be 4032.

I also considered getting this kit, my bore is 3.800 and this is the only kit I found that I can buy that has that size. Price really isn't any different then me buying separate but it does give me a piece of mind knowing I'm not verifying piston to rods specs as they match it for you.

I am looking at their pistons for SBC use, not LSX.

I absolutely liquefied the heads on my motor (leaned out on 18 lbs) and summit Pro LS pistons were completely fine.

Pretty sure Wiseco makes Summit pro LS pistons. I had a set of Wiseco professional pistons and compared them to a Pro LS and they looked the exact same they even use Wiseco wrist pins

@Shownomercy,

The 4032 coated forged pistons you found were designed as a middle ground between stock replacement hypereutectic pistons and our 2618 Pro LS line. While we don’t currently offer 2618 pistons for an SBC under our brand, we do work with a wide range of vendors who provide 2618 options.

If you need help selecting the right pistons, feel free to reach out with details about your build. Key info like bore size, stroke, rod length, pin diameter, flat top or dome preference, and the compression ratio or cc range you’re aiming for will help us guide you to the best option. We’re here to help!

Thank you for providing the details about the pistons you're looking to replace. We want to clarify that we do offer 2618 pistons in our Forged Pro Piston line for an SBC, but we do not have a close match for your JE 28cc dished pistons; the nearest is 9cc.

A budget-friendly alternative that matches your JE pistons is the D.S.S. Racing DMS-2-2407-40302618 FX series pistons, priced at $699.95. They also offer a version with upgraded XR pins DMS-3-2407-4030 for $879.95.

Remember, our CYBER promotion ends today. Get $20 off orders over $250, $40 off over $500, or $80 off over $1,000.

I used the LS Pro rods and pistons with a stock crank, fit and finish was great, balanced up fine, several thousand miles and a little (lol) boost.
