Default Low boost 4-6psi 1:1 regulator needed?

I have a 78 vette 5.3 swap, summit 8719 cam, dorman LS6 intake and a T4 VS billet 70/70 single turbo. I'm wrapping up everything for first start and having second thoughts about fuel system after setting up the tune. The WG has a 4.6psi spring and I'm looking to make 4.6-6psi boost. I have more than enough injector but the C5 filter/reg is not boost referenced and I currently have 61-63psi of fuel pressure with a 100psi transducer on the rail with the holley TermX. This means my 60lb is really 72.6lb and at 6psi fuel pressure drops to 57psi. The expected HP is 500-550hp and I would think that the holley fuel trim table will just adjust for the slight loss in fuel pressure/flow in boost right? Currently I have the base tune uploaded but its set at the deka 60lb with actual fuel pressure at 63psi. Below is the basic system and I have aeromotive bypass 1:1 regulator that I could swap in but would need to redo the fuel system to accommodate it... if its really needed. At this time I can't go higher than 6psi as the tranny is only good for 550hp and the rear end for about 450hp.
  • Stock tank walbro 255lph HP pump
  • -6an to C5 filter/reg combo by tank
  • 5/16" return back to tank (less than 3ft long)
  • single PTFE 6an to billet fuel rail (dead headed).
  • Deka 60lb @ 43psi (actual fuel rail pressure is 61-63psi).

I ran upwards of 700whp and 14 lbs. of boost on the stock 98-02 F-Body returnless style fuel system, just dual pumps and bigger injectors.
I'd say no and the tune can account for 4-6 lbs.

Thanks, I feel like its prob fine. Question, the 98-02 Fbody thought the regulator was in the tank, pics show a vacuum port hookup... is that not referenced? For ***** and giggles I priced out parts for a conversion and putting a big summit 10 micron filter in place of the C5 filter/reg and then fittings to hookup at the fuel rail. If I can reuse the stock hard line its prob all in at about $150 so not too bad.

I don't recall it being vacuum referenced, there was no vacuum line that ran back there, only evap lines.
I think the regulator in the tank uses a spring only.
There was no hose when I replaced the pump and added another one to the bucket.
There's a vacuum modulator for fuel dampening on the fuel rail but that's it.

No, def don't need it. The tune just needs to provide the extra Inj. DC to make up for less pressure at the inj. head as you go.

When I put the LSA blower on my LS3 in my Cougar, I did not change the fuel system except add a bigger pump. I was still using a Wix Corvette regulator. What I did was use a Bosch differential fuel pressure sensor. Instead of reading rail pressure, this sensor reads the differential pressure by measuring rail pressure on one side and manifold pressure on the other side. The I created an advanced table to add or subtract fuel based on differential fuel pressure, which is essentially what a manifold referenced fuel pressure regulator does.

That said, if you are only shooting for 6 psi, you can easily tune for this with added injector pulse width. Just keep in mind that doing it this way will give you artificially high VE numbers in the VE table.
