Duramax Intercooler Questions I've got a 2005 Sierra 2500HD with a 6.0
Everything is nearly 100% figured out for the turbo installation except for intercooler... because it can get pricy!
I've been thinking of doing a Duramax Intercooler and I have a few questions because this stuff isn't all that clear online
- Is there much of a difference between the LBZ , LLY, LB7 intercoolers?
- Anyone know what sorta HP I can expect before IAT starts to jump up rapidly?
- Do I need to get a whole duramax rad support and rad to make this work or is just the intercooler sufficient for a direct bolt in?

The LB7 and LLY inter cooler I believe are the same with all aluminum construction. The LBZ is different and has a plastic tank on one end. That end, uses a special slip fit connection.
I haven't compared the the duramax to a gasser 2500 core support. They might be the same. They are however different from a 1500. The LBZ also has a unique core support for its application because it has a taller cooling stack from the previous LB7/LLY

still wondering on HP limits but atm it will do with the injectors I have, I'll probably be limited to 450-500whp with what I got.

in case people are interested I did some calculations and here is the limits of the LB7 intercooler. I'll update once I build with my experience.
based on square inch rule (1sq in per 1hp)
looking at about 721hp
Based on 3L per 100hp (2.05" thick)
looking at about 800hp
