Default D1X - Any fitment issues?

I have my heart set on a D1X, not much info out there.
Those of you running a D1X setup on a 98-02 Firebird/Camaro, did you encounter any issues upon install or did everything go smoothly? To my understanding, its hit or miss if the D1X fits. If you ran into an issue, what was it and how did you resolve it?

Zero fitment issues with D1X. Not exactly sure where you are getting your information from.

I guess depending on the appl., I was led to believe the intake housing (volute?) was a little larger when guys had a D1SC converted to a D1X, and some had fitment issues.

From the two Procharger dealers I have talked to. I was just hoping maybe others can shed some light on if they are running one and installed without issue, before I drop a large amount on a kit. Lol
From my understanding, the D1X is a more efficient blower and I feel it would work better for my application.

I think NoGo ended up modifying the core support to accommodate the inlet since it was very close to the core support and the intake tube that came with the procharger was a restriction.

I ran one and the only thing I encountered was the fan shroud rested on the head unit slightly. I ran it though and never had an issue.

It is a fatter blower than the D1SC. Some have said they don't have issues with it fitting. I suspect that is with the old Procharger F-body inlet hat on the blower. At worst, I suspect you will have to notch stuff if you just want to get it to fit.

I run a custom shroud and I also removed the lower radiator support for clearance (for other issues as well). In my experience, the inlet into the supercharger becomes the restriction, so if you want to make materially more power with the D1-X you have to clear the inlet to let it breath. Once you clear the inlet and run something that isn't the Procharger F-Body hat 900+ RWHP doesn't seem to be an issue. With the factory procharger inlet I was power limited at ~700-ish HP. So, if you don't mind stuff rubbing or a little cutting, I think you'll be limited to ~700 WHP. If you are looking to max the D1x you will need to clear some stuff infront of the blower which means some notable cutting.

The below makes about 950-ish.

The D1x is an impressive little blower. Id do what ever you need to do to make it fit. The coyote boys are making over 1000 rwhp through autos easily with that blower on e85. Dont be afraid to overspin the prochargers.

I loved my D1x when I had it but wanted more so I moved to an f1a-94 now im waiting to see what the new f1r-103 does when its released.

Procharger' LS F-Body E-fan Shroud | mmsolutions
Mightymouse shroud above.

That shroud is pretty similar to the one I built. I suspect that gains you a healthy amount of room in front of the blower so you can run the truck hat. Possibly an easy fix for other folks looking for some fitiment insurance when going to a D1-x.

How is that MM shroud different than the procharger shroud, other than the added small fan? the large fan looks in the same location

Probably similar. I'm not up to speed on what is in the F-body Procharger kit now days.
