question for you turbo guys I saw this car on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6420 and was wondering how hard it would be converting a 6 cylinder camero or firebird into a car like this. I also was wondering how much the original 3.8 liter motor and wiring in the cameros and firebirds could be used in the swap. I know it's not a ls1 question but maybe someone here might have some grand national/3.8 knowledge and know. I was thinking it might not cost too much. I know I could get a V6 hard top camero for cheap but I'm not sure what I would spend throwing a turbo setup on it. If it would cost a lot I'll probably forget the whole thing but I've had a hard on for a turbo car for a while and I think that one is pretty sweet even though it's not a ls1.

well the V6 that comes in the new F-bod, is very very similar to the old GN motor. its just a different generation motor. you could get it built and add a turbo and have basically the same thing.

Go with the GN motor, pcm, harness and trans. if you do a complete driveline swap it will be alot easier and yeild better results IMO. the swap shouldn't be to bad but i'm assuming you'll have to do custom motor mounts, trans mount and drive shaft atleast.

I contacted the seller earlier and told him I was interested in the car for $10K. He wrote me back a snotty reply saying he had $10K in the engine. I didn't reply back, but I felt like telling him his 1993 Formula is not the most desireable car ever made and at the end of the day it's still a 93 Formula! Hell, you can buy a 10 sec. GN for far less than $18K and at least it will hold it's value, unlike a 93 Formula! This clown thinks because he put $10K into the engine ten years ago, he thinks he'll get every penny back today... 
Good luck getting the $18K!
BTW, the car didn't even make it to $10K on ebay.
