Default Blow off valves

Every time I order a blow off valve, it only comes with an alumn. flange, which is fine if using alumn. tubing. Are that many people using alumn. tubing on the intake side. Since I do all my own work, and don't weld alumn., I have to search for a steel flange, hope the V band fits. Anyone else run into this. Maybe the name brand ones you have the option bet. that and steel, but the "bargain" ones you get what you get, lol.

I use aluminum on the intake stuff. If you can't find the steel alternative, you can probably find a aluminum pipe section that has the flange already welded to it and then just use some couplers.

Use a 2inch Exhaust V-band flange.
I didnt have a Tig at the time, so used that welded on a piece of 3inch Exhaust Pipe to mount my BOV.

Interesting. I have never even heard of anybody using steel on their intake side.

we see the occasional stainless cold side at my buddies dyno shop. Kind of makes sense, the barrier to entry on DC only tig welders was so much lower than any AC/DC High Frequency machine for so long. Obviously prime weld, everlast etc have changed that story over the years.
