Working on an Engine Simulator
It looks like when solving for VE you are using some empirical equations with a helmholz equation. Im not sure what your background is, but have you considered trying to actually solve the 1D wave equation in the intake runner to get a true 1st principles physics prediction of VE? I feel this is what separates the Desktop Dyno softwares of the world from real, full physics based engineering tools like GT-Power. No doubt this would slow the simulation down, and is not trivial to implement, but I'm curious what your end goal is.
I just pushed an update. I updated the VE calculations, the current model uses a flow model based on cam/head flow/piston speed, intake runner length (flow harmonics), etc... I'll continue to improve on it, the current model is pretty good. I will be loading more options to the parts libraries soon also (243, 317 heads, Holley Hi Ram, etc...). Send requests for additional heads, cams, and intakes.
