Quick Question... I was just wondering what the difference is between a wastegate and a blowoff valve. I always thought they were the same thing, but I am sure I am wrong. Anyone care to give a brief explanation? Thanks!
wastegate bleeds off exhaust.. or bypasses exhaust around the turbo.. slows the turbo down.. limits the boost the turbo makes.
a bov is on the discharge side of the system between the turbo and the engine, and vents excess pressure when the throttle is closed just after high load.
