Update and Shakedown passes.
It does a good wheel stand and carries it out past the tree. Got it on camera. Leaveing off the brake on 9 psi. The belt must be slipping cause thats all it will make. Scott told me it made 15 with the twin intercoolers. Its pretty tight now, guess i can crank it down some more cant hurt anything. Also around 5000 rpm or so it cuts out bad and falls on its face. I have the plugs gapped at .034. Could it be blowing the spark out? Kurt told me to try .025 and switch the coil packs out off my truck cause they have more fire power. Any ideas on that? Im stumped and need some more help. Thanks Justin I am running a FAST standalone.
Listen to Kurt. He told me to get a set of the truck GM Melco coils and trays and I did but I did not put them on immediately. My car ran great but it would not pull past 5500 it sort of sputtered. I immediately pulled the car back into the warehouse and swapped over to the truck coils, trays and a set of MSD truck wires... pulled to 6800 just fine after that. I have run my car up to 7000 a bunch of times now. I also am running a set of AC Delco plugs that Kurt reccomended and the gap is in the .025-.030 range. They seem to be holding up well have not fouled out so far. Keep us posted!
Justin as a counterpoint my 10.3 was with a 105mph 1/8th. The guys going 9.8-9.99 go around 110 in the 1/8th. I made no boost off the line and took a while to get into boost. I'm sure you will get there. Take the belt in your hand and make sure that you have very little side to side flex. It should be taut.
